PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMPACT

  • Micro credit Project:
  • Help in the mobilization and sensitization of community members in Self Help Group Concept.
  • Help facilitate women groups in savings and credit management.
  • Help facilitate women in modules concerning their socioeconomic and better livelihoods.
  • Help women identify small income generating activities they can do using their small savings and micro credits.  
  • Design record books and help the women to record their weekly savings.
  • Designing income-generating projects (small-scale agriculture, handiwork) for vulnerable groups, notably women and girls
  • Work with the local staff to link women groups and cluster level associations to institutions where they can get help.
  • Empower women in entrepreneurship and business skills. 
  • Inspire women to start or expand their income generating projects or businesses.

DELIVERABLES

To enable poor people especially women improve their socioeconomic conditions using their own savings and NIRP loans. Women create their village banks where they can access small loans to initiate or grow their businesses.

Women groups can learn how to use their small resources to create their small village banks.

FOOD STIPEND

Occasional meals will be provided to the Experteer

LEARNING OPPORTUNITY

The experteer will learn the local language (Luganda), volunteer will be able to share and learn the local culture, Volunteer will learn new skills on rural village banks creation and self help group concept(SHG). Volunteers will also be able to learn cooking from their host families.

Local language classes. Tours on motorcycle around nearby tourist destinations. Culture learning and exchanges
