Project Description and Impact

A huge gap still exists regarding inclusive financial support in the efforts to promote economic transformation and independence among Malawians. Nurses and Midwives are some of the most important professionals in the world, and particularly in Malawi, were most of the citizens depend on the public health care system. Nurses and midwives are professionals who are always available when a new life is coming into the world and also departure. Despite their critical role in the healthcare sector, they face a number of challenges that affect their service delivery and welfare in general. At the core of these challenges is financial constraints. Nurses and midwives have a limited access to financial services that hinders their professional development, income stability, investment and preparation for their retirement. Additionally, the majority of nurses in Malawi are civil servants with low salaries, only available to sustain their monthly daily basic needs and not for long term investment, hence a huge need for financial support.  It is from this background that our company People Development Fund has  partnered with National organization of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi to bridge this financial gap.Nevertheless People development fund needs support in terms of capacity development and fundraising to actualize this dream.
