Organization Details

Wazi Vision is a Uganda-based eyewear manufacturing company founded in 2017 by two female entrepreneurs. We produce high-quality, affordable eyeglasses using sustainable materials such as acetate, cow horn, bamboo, and fabric.

Wazi means "clear" in Kiswahili, reflecting our mission to make clear vision accessible to everyone in Africa. Our goal is to provide comprehensive eye care through accessible eye testing, high-quality eyeglasses, and eye health education for those in need.

Impact Story

We serve communities across all income levels, with a strong focus on ensuring that low-income individuals have access to essential eye care. Through free eye tests, eye care education, and subsidized eyewear—such as reading glasses—we help those who need it most.

Our cow horn eyewear production not only delivers sustainable, high-quality eyewear but also creates employment opportunities, with each frame supporting at least seven jobs, fostering economic empowerment.

To make vision care more accessible, we partner with hospitals, bringing essential services closer to underserved communities. Since our founding, we have impacted more than 5,000 people through our services, including those reached via our free eye camps.
