PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMPACT
We are a children's centre located in the underprivileged neighbourhood of San Sebastian, in Cusco. The study Centre's name translates literally as "House of Knowledge" from its original language, Quechua. The Centre focuses on helping children and adolescents who are of school age, and whose parents lack the time, resources or knowledge to help their children with their homework, or in preparing them to make the most of their education.
The Centre helps with schoolwork, reinforces content in the school curriculum, and offers workshops led by a psychologist with the aim of promoting personal, emotional and social development. We also offer creative classes, such as drama, music, drawing and painting. This focus allows children to learn, express themselves, to gain self-confidence and lose any fear related to speaking in front of others.
We are in urgent need of funds to continue to run, and requires a fundraiser to assist them with short, medium and long-term fundraising.
