We Provide These Local Benefits
There are many reasons why people decide to volunteer abroad - to learn about a different culture, develop professional skills, learn a new language or give something back to society. Volunteering for our organization is hugely beneficial, not only to those you will work with but also to yourself.
As a small NGO, we provide an opportunity for professionals to make a big impact on our organization and help us develop as a charity, which in turn will have a lasting impact on the community we work with.
We have up to 15 volunteers at any one time from all over the world. Joining our team is a great way to meet new people and map friends around the globe. There is an active social scene here in Arequipa and our volunteers regularly take trips together to see some of the many wonders of Peru.
Questions & Answers About this Opportunity
i am applying from India so i will require someone to sponsor visa, will i get that.
Dear Bhanu, thanks for your interest in HOOP. Unfortunately we aren't able to sponsor visas at this time. However, if you are able to travel to Peru on a tourist visa, we encourage you to apply, stating why you would be a good fit for HOOP, and how you can help us. Best wishes, Tom
Does this program include accommodation? If not, is there an allowance for housing or is it the volunteer's responsibility to find their own? Thanks!
Hi Ashley, unfortunately we aren't able to offer accommodation or an allowance - we're simply too small an organisation at the moment (although we would love to in the future!). Our Volunteer Coordinator helps all our volunteers find affordable accommodation, which ranges from $30 to $80 USD per week. Feel free to ask any other questions here or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
