Project Description and Impact
Our organization is an innovative educational project to educate and inspire disadvantaged youth through space science. In brief, we operate 5 centers in Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon with 10 months of classes, total 120 of learning hours with science professionals, currently teaching 120 students, a program that will culminate in 3 high altitude balloons launches and 1 satellite construction and launch!
We are working together with our partners on one goal – delivering exceptional collaborative experience to empower refugee communities and produce an exceptional STEM education model for disadvantaged communities, based on the central theme of space and space science, combining mathematics, electronics, physics and project management.
Currently, we are seeking support creating an introductory python course: developing existing lesson plans, exercises and programming ideas into properly formatted documents to be followed by our students in conjunction with a Codecademy course.
Impact: The programming course will be given to an initial group of 100 students, but can be easily scaled up and repeated for many cohorts, helping many of our students gain concrete skills, portfolio pieces and experience to improve their technical and programming skills.
