Description and Impact

Tiny Totos is a social enterprise that works to build standards of service into informal daycares operating in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya.  We currently have 30 daycares in our network and have funding that will enable us to scale to 200 daycares.  We urgently need to develop a phone-based reporting app that will enable our mobile staff in-the-field to generate and upload virtual reports on the daycares that we partner with.  These reports will include a range of data inputs, such as financial information, the physical state of children and facilities, GPS location and visual content.  However, the app can't be too unwieldily and complicated for lower educated field staff with basic smartphones to utilize.  We are seeking an experteer to either create the app themselves or manage the app development process by drawing on prior experiences of developing similar tools for community-based organizations such as ours.

The desired result of this project is the development and implementation of a fully-functioning app that will:

-allow us to more effectively manage our workflows, data, and impact at scale

-be compatible with basic smartphones and intuitive for in-the-field staff to use

-have a sophisticated back-office data system to enable us to generate instantaneous reports/identify trends in impact or areas for improvement

Other requirements

Our ideal candidate is flexible, able to work independently, resourceful in drawing upon previous experience to make new and innovative connections, and has previous experience in software development/apps for social enterprises.
