Project Details

Description and Impact

Our foundation works to enhance education received in public schools in and around Medellin, Colombia. We do this by teaching English, leadership and Technology. Our volunteers provide an essential component of English program buy offering fun and interesting after school clubs using English to teach a variety of things from sports to arts and crafts. The work of the volunteers support the work of our full time teachers in the classroom. This, combined with Technology and Leadership skills equips young Colombians with the ability to compete globally in the 21st century.

Our volunteers are asked to run after school clubs over a period of one school semester. Each club must have an element of English, but other than that the volunteer  can draw on their own expertise that they feel they can share with the students. At the end of each semester we have events to show what has been produced in each club and what the students have learnt both in their classes and with the volunteers.
