Project Description and Impact

We are currently working on a project aimed at promoting the UNAIDS and Zambian National AIDS Strategic Framework which seeks to reduce new cases of AIDS in Zambia. Our goal is to develop the local facilities capacity to treat AIDS patients, to reduce stigma and discrimination, to create a platform for information about the HIV/AIDS. The project will encourage community participation and strengthen case management while promoting early detection of HIV status among expectant mothers and infants.

The project targets 460 women, 230 children, 60 community health providers, and 25 former sex workers as direct beneficiaries of the project . The indirect beneficiaries of the project will be 6,400 members of the communities from the 4 clinics. The project will be implemented through workshops, community outreach project activities, and linkages for HIV counseling and testing with local health centers as a way of promoting referrals to clients who need treatment.

What we need from a skilled Experteer is someone who can help us develop our funding strategy to complete this project. We would like to have a plan which will allow us to expand our program and grow the coming years.
