Social Impact Project for Fundraising Experteer to Support Medical Nonprofit

How This Works

Project Description and Impact

According to the Kenya Hospice and Palliative Care Association (KEHPCA) in Kenya, 1.5 million pain sufferers are in need of relief through hospice or palliative care services, but only 10 percent ever receive some care.   This means 1.35 million Kenyans, predominantly the poor and those living in rural areas, suffer pain and debilitation with no relief at all.

We are a US-based nonprofit that supports a newly created Hospice and Palliative Care medical organization, Rehema Open Door, in rural western Kenya near the town of Ringa in Homa Bay County.  We are in the process of building an hospice facility that has the first building in its medical complex roughly constructed and will start finishing the building's interior soon. This medical facility has the potential to meet the medical care needs of over 5 million people in rural Kenya.
