Social Impact Project for Digital & Fundraising Experteer to support Eyecare, Education & Agriculture

How This Works

In the MovingWorlds Institute Global Fellowship, you will learn how to advance your for-good career while getting hands on experience on projects like this one.

Project Description and Impact

During April and May 2018 at our organization, students and institutional staff participated in an intense workshop focused on Creative Thinking applied to Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This project will build on the work of a previous experteer we hosted, who was a Product Designer / Creative Mentor from Japan. The goal of that project was to absorb and be inspired by the local culture and the richness of its people, share global views through personal experiences and inspire others to act on detected pain points, issues that affect the community, and opportunities to improve life in all aspects.

This new entrepreneurship lab is the result of that project, and we created it in order to provide tools, training, support, and further follow–up and development of local innovators and new entrepreneurial business ideas. Our mission is to build upon the full potential of the local innovators in order to lead us through growth and development to meet their needs and achieve their visions. Through productive partnerships with established capacity building organizations, our entrepreneurship lab will positively impact the lives of Cameroonians by supporting initiatives that increase and enhance formal and vocational education opportunities; improve access to basic health care; and help communities build a better tomorrow.

We are currently focusing our fundraising and soliciting of resources for only one of the ventures participating in the entrepreneurship lab, and hope to enlist the support of another experteer to build out the fundraising strategy for two additional participating ventures: one is an Eyecare center and the second is an Integrated Mixed Farming Cooperative Society.  Both are in the Tubah Sub Division in the North West Region of Cameroon. We have identified several other projects that we hope to support in the future.
