Organization Details
Wellspring Family Services envisions a future in which every child has a safe, stable home. Since 1892, we have helped families in crisis in the greater Seattle Area. We have evolved and adapted to best serve our community's needs, providing various types of flexible and collaborative support for children and families.
Today, Wellspring is on a mission to end family homelessness. We aim to prevent homelessness before it occurs and intervene as early as possible if it does. We intend to achieve this through an anti-racist, community-centered approach that works to break the inequitable homelessness cycle that keeps families in poverty for generations. Our wraparound programs are flexible and collaborative by design as we recognize that families face unique and often urgent needs on their journey to stability.
Impact Story
Aiming to prevent families from becoming homeless, and intervening to break the generational cycle for those who have, Wellspring provides these select services:
-Early Learning (focus on Pre-K children experiencing homelessness)
-Housing Services (focus on preventing homelessness, as well as intervening early, for parents with children)
-Family Store (free store for clothing, hygiene items, and essentials like diapers or car seats)
A recent article by The Seattle Times highlights one family’s experience finding stability through Wellspring’s ELC. This family includes one child currently enrolled in the ELC and one who has graduated from the program. Both children are now thriving as a result of their time in the program.
