Description and Impact
Launched in January 2018, our project aims to develop, train and empower tribal women of the neglected border villages between Maharashtra and Gujarat, in Dadra Nagar Haveli (DNH). Women in these communities traditionally have few earning opportunities and have suffered exploitation at the hands of employers.
We, along with our implementation partner, provide experiential training including exposure visits to successful concerns on dairy farming, poultry farming, vermi-compost, tailoring, and organic vegetable farming. We also conduct activities to build confidence and assertiveness and assist the women in developing links to relevant markets.
We have seen considerable increases in the women’s earnings, in some cases to Rs. 15,000 per month, which gives stability and certainty for them throughout the year. Our aspiration is that these economically empowered women can transform their tribal society from the inside, ensuring their children’s education and developing their communities by participating in village decisions.
We’re looking for an Experteer with experience in CSR and monitoring and evaluation to help us measure the long-term impact of our work and programs. Once a quarter, we conduct an M&E assessment with two staff members - one who does data quantification and one who does internal reporting. There’s a lot of room for improvement in our process.
