Project Description and Impact

GLOWA is a non-profit organization created by survivors of child trafficking. The organization is dedicated to protecting present day children from experiencing a childhood of abuse as its founders. Unfortunately, GLOWA has not had adequate financial resources to address the pull factor on potential victims and/or provide sustainable livelihood support to victims who become aware and break away from exploitation. The result has been an increasing number of those falling for secondary trafficking.

Earlier attempt by GLOWA to support vocational training by placing survivors with external trainers have not been very successful, because trainers are profit oriented individual who do not understand the psychological and mental health needs of individuals who have suffered abuses.

GLOWA is currently developing a facility recovery program for victims of child trafficking in Cameroon. This program will permit us to transition from the provision of vocational training through placement with external trainers to a GLOWA managed one stop facility for the provision of holistic recovery program including emotional healing. This facility which is shall start operations from a rented premises hopes to run the sewing and embroidery departments for the start. It our desire to benefit the support of an experteers grant writer to design an innovative fundable project that can attract partners for our interventions.
