Project Details

Description and Impact

Built for Zero is a rigorous national change effort working to help a core group of committed communities end homelessness. Coordinated by Community Solutions, the national effort supports participants in developing real time data on homelessness, optimizing local housing resources, tracking progress against monthly goals, and accelerating the spread of proven strategies.

For this project, we are looking for TWO individuals to support a local team in a major US city with the design and deployment of dashboards that will help them identify system bottlenecks and improve on-the-ground processes to reduce and end veteran homelessness.

Using client-level data and community-specific process maps, we will create visualizations in Tableau that empower a community to understand and monitor the experience of veterans being served by the local homeless response system in order to surface opportunities for process improvement, understand the impact of various improvement projects, and flag potential system resource gaps. Your work will support efforts to make sure homelessness is as rare, brief, and non-recurring as possible.

Deliverables include:

  • A workflow for connecting (live or regularly extracted) client-level By-Name List data with Tableau
  • Co-design and creation of interactive dashboards to understand, improve, and monitor local processes using Tableau
  • Improvement/make-over of existing local dashboards

Final details related to project scope and process will be explored during the planning phase through the planning guide. Project is expected to start in late October.
