Opportunity Details

PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMPACT

We are looking for someone experienced in organic farming to lead the development of our farm and permaculture forest for our animal welfare community. This will include desigining irrigation, planting, crop rotating, etc. We have about 1 acre of property which we want to use to grow produce for the residents.

Applicants should be self-motivated and knowledgeable about farming (or willing to research and put it to the test). Experteers will also be free to seek out "farm volunteers" on and offline to help them with the process.

DELIVERABLES

We will know this project is successful when we have a plan for how to utilize the farm to it's fullest and the basics (irrigation, design, permaculture plan, and first planting) are in place.

We Provide These Local Benefits

ACCOMMODATION

We can provide accommodation in our animal welfare community house. This may be shared for part or all of the time. Bathrooms and toilets are shared.

FOOD STIPEND

We provide 3 vegan meals per day prepared in our kitchen.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITY

The farm can be a sand box for an experienced farmer to try new things. Especially with the permaculture forest, we are open to someone who knows farming but who has never tried permaculture before. They will be able to research new techniques and try them. Also, this can be an opportunity to learn farm management and planning. Experteers will work closely with locals, giving them the opportunity to meet Indian people outside of a tourist environment.
