Social Impact Project for Crowdfunding Expert to Fight Food Insecurity in Cameroon

How This Works

Project Description and Impact

We are a non-governmental, non-profit organisation carrying out capacity-building activities with small-scale farmers (mostly women) in marginalised rural communities in the South West region of Cameroon. Currently, we are planning to build a modern cassava production, processing and transformation centre in Kumba, which will provide free vocational training to 10 women groups (300 female headed households) who hail from impoverished communities and operate a food distributing project to provide free meals to 3000 refugees, orphans, Covid-19 victims and internally displaced persons (IDPs) traumatized by the anglophone crisis.

The project will solve the issue of food rationing at refugee camps and help provide enough food to refugees as well as increase their meals from one square meal a day to three nutritious meals. Covid-19 patients, orphans as well as IDPs will have food varieties to feed on, which would improve on their health and well-being.

Learning Opportunity

- He or she would learn how our non-profit organisation operates, and gain hands-on experience in a growing social enterprise

- Another aspect of learning is our culture and livelihood; and how poor people survive their daily lives
