Project Description and Impact

Effective resource planning is essential to achieving our goals and ensuring the success of our programs. As our projects grow in scale and complexity, the need to efficiently request and justify additional resources—whether Full-Time Employees (FTEs), contractors, consultants, experteers, or interns—has become increasingly important.

Currently, there is no standardized framework or set of materials in place to guide resource requests. This creates challenges in ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment with organizational priorities when making these requests. To address this, we are launching a project to develop a comprehensive framework and supporting materials to streamline the resource request process and equip our teams with the tools they need to make informed decisions.

Why We Need Support

  1. Developing a Clear, Consistent Framework:
    A well-structured framework will provide our teams with a clear process for assessing needs, defining roles, and presenting resource requests.

  2. Creating Tailored Materials:
    Support is needed to develop templates, guidelines, and decision-making tools to help stakeholders evaluate options such as hiring FTEs, engaging contractors/consultants, or onboarding interns or experteers.

  3. Aligning with Organizational Goals:
    To ensure resource requests are aligned with strategic priorities, we need a framework that emphasizes alignment with budget, impact, and internal capabilities.

  4. Optimizing Efficiency:
    By standardizing the process, we aim to reduce time spent on back-and-forth communications, eliminate ambiguities, and improve overall efficiency in resource allocation.

  5. Limited Internal Capacity:
    With our teams focused on operational execution, we seek external expertise to bring structure and fresh perspectives to this initiative without overburdening current staff.
