Project Description and Impact

Context

As per the latest available data from the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 15% of the world’s population lives with some form of disability. The significant number of people with disabilities in India, an estimated 70 million (according to the WHO), highlights the importance of collaborative approaches within the disability ecosystem.

The concept of 'Collectives'—where individuals and organizations collaborate, share best practices, and combine efforts towards common goals—is gaining traction. This approach not only amplifies impact but also fosters a more inclusive society by leveraging diverse strengths and resources. Based on this approach, within the context of EnAble India, we have established collectives dedicated to individuals with various disabilities: See A Million (for persons with vision impairment), Hear A Million (for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community), and Rise A Million (for individuals with cerebral palsy).
