Social Impact Project for Streamline Sistech's website and improve experience for its key audiences

Project Description and Impact

Maintaining a website that simultaneously showcases our work to empower refugee women, and allows us to connect with potential beneficiaries, programme volunteers, and corporate funders is vital to Sistech’s operations and growth.

We do not have a developer on staff who can make major website upgrades, or who is familiar with the latest mobile app trends and tools.

This project aims to provide an expert perspective on simple ways to streamline and optimise Sistech’s site, keeping it on-brand, but also on pace with today’s mobile-first environment. It will provide actionable suggestions (through CMS) to enhance the way stakeholders interact with the site.

Learning Opportunity

Real-World Impact: Learn how to apply UX principles in a high-stakes, mission-driven environment where design decisions directly affect the lives of refugee women seeking professional opportunities and advancement.

Strategic UX Thinking with Stakeholders: Collaborate directly with a communications team on a limited budget, learning to balance user needs, brand integrity, and organizational goals.

Human-Centered Design in Low-Tech Contexts: Work within the realities of a nonprofit tech stack and explore creative, lightweight solutions.Discover how to make meaningful improvements without complete redesigns.

Demonstrate your UX audit, research, and recommendations: Practice turning observations into actionable insights. Hone your ability to present and justify UX recommendations to non-design audiences.
