Project Description and Impact

The goal of One Million Leaders Africa is to equip a million young people across Africa with skills in Leadership for a better future, Sustainability, Social Innovation and Social entrepreneurship by the year 2030. The approach to reaching these million young leaders is through a fellowship. Annually, 60 young people from across Africa will be selected for a two-weeks fully sponsored residential Bootcamp in Rwanda.

These young leaders also called Fellows will first be trained through the curriculum for their own personal transformation and growth. After their participation, they will then go back to their home countries to step down their training to other young people who are called Stars. This stepdown by the Fellows to the Stars will go on for 3months after which the Stars will also step down their own training to other young people who are called Starlets.

To serve as the resource material for all the levels of the training, the OMLA team is developing a curriculum that focuses on the key areas of the training. The curriculum which is tagged a Journey in 4 phases has been drafted under the 4 themes otherwise known as phases. These are Values, Perspectives, Skills and Leadership.
