How This Works

Project Description and Impact
The goal of the Mindfulness Programs for Underserved Youth is to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression and enhance resiliency, function and quality of life for underserved youth. When students reduce their stress, they can focus on their training, move on to the internship phase of the program and ultimately find career success and greater health, well‐being and life satisfaction. Due to the impact of COVID-19 and the requirements of local shelter-in-place Emergency Orders, we were forced to suspend plans for the delivery of the mindfulness program. We are looking for 1-3 volunteers to create and facilitate a virtual mindfulness series for our current Bay Area students. We have 280 students in our new class of students – our San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and Diablo Valley College campuses have 80 young adults each, and our Facebook/Menlo Park campus has 40 young adults.
