Frequently Asked Questions

Unilever is one of the founding partners of TRANSFORM, a unique joint initiative with the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and EY which provides selected social enterprises with a combination of funding and business support.

In 2022, TRANSFORM partnered with MovingWorlds to extend the impact of its core programming by launching the TRANSFORM Support Hub, which connects any social enterprise with corporates, peers, learning content, and a global community of pro bono professionals to accelerate their impact and revenues.

In addition, Unilever has partnered directly with MovingWorlds to provide free access to the TRANSFORM Support Hub for its employees, and for the diverse-owned enterprises in its supplier development program.

A social enterprise is an organization that provides products & services in-line with one or more of the 17 SDGs and uses the power of the market to scale it through earned revenue streams. It also actively measures and manages any negative impacts created by its operations, prioritizes a healthy working environment for employees, and prioritizes the development of the community and ecosystem it is a part of.

A diverse-owned enterprise is an organization that is 51% or more owned, managed, and controlled by members of a diverse group — including women, people who identify as LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, and people from racially minoritized groups.

Many social enterprises are also diverse-owned enterprises, but not all diverse-owned enterprises are social enterprises.
