Social Impact Project for Sustainable Business Plan to Support Indigenous Communities
Project Description and Impact
We are a nonprofit Guatemalan Association led by a dedicated, diverse team that brings together local and international experience to facilitate sustainable development, personal empowerment, education, leadership and appropriate technology. Our focus is on engaging and empowering youth to become change-makers and local leaders. We give special attention to youth in frontline communities within Guatemala and El Salvador where intensifying climatic changes, increasing violence, growing income disparities and limited economic opportunities are making growing numbers of youth vulnerable to the influence of gangs, crime, migration and other impact of social disintegration.
We want to cultivate and support a community of young changemakers. We facilitate workshops to train our youth to develop leadership skills, build their citizenship muscles, and to become part of a rapidly-growing inclusive network of social entrepreneurs.
We're seeking support to develop a 3-year strategic plan to help us pivot from the current business model into one more sustainable model that would enable us to transition operations from current staff over to the community youth who benefit from our resources.
By participating in the MovingWorlds Institute, you will first learn social impact frameworks and human-centered design before putting your existing skills and new knowledge to action. In addition, this organization will expose you to new things, like:
We're currently transitioning as the first organization using the Teal Based Approach as part of their culture organization. We are creating, working and husting to transform our "organization" into more a living entity, oriented towards realizing our potential and the potential of our Socios. We strongly practice in a daily basis: self management, wholeness and evolutionary purpose as core values for our roles.
We can offer the selected experteer professional and personal development in a really progressive and intentional ecosystem. You'll be working in a diverse and inclusive latino background team, where our Experteer will have the opportunity to approach the reality of Guatemala from different perspectives (gender, ethnicity, educational and economic background) and finally, you will be invested to keep building safety and growing spaces for young people in their own communities.
This project accepts virtual experteers.
