Pyro-degrade Energy is a Kenyan start-up that develops alternative fuels from plastic waste; our main product is Pyro-diesel which is a cleaner and more affordable diesel alternative. We built our system from the ground up; started from just a concept in 2017 and launched our first model processing plant in 2020. We have since had a challenge in commercializing the project due to a lack of funds due to the cash-intensive barriers of entry measures in the petroleum sector in Kenya.

We need the support because we have come to realize that there seems to be a problem with the way we package our information; we are ideally a social impact organization however our message doesn't seem to resonate with organizations in the environmental, climate, and social impact space.

Learning Opportunity

We convert plastic to fuel through a process called Pyrolysis, this process is one that is generally frowned upon by environmentalists because more often than not the negative impacts outweigh the positives, however, our process changes this. We found a way to make the process safe clean and sustainable. We would like more people to understand our process and learn from it and hopefully reverse the negative picture Pyrolysis has.
