Social Impact Project for Strategic Copywriter and Editor for Social Enterprise

How This Works

As part of the TRANSFORM Support Hub, you will learn how to advance your career while getting hands on experience on projects like this one.

Project Description and Impact

Doh Eain (“Our Home”) is a multi-disciplinary restoration and placemaking social enterprise based in Yangon, Myanmar. In a world of rapid urbanisation, we endeavor to ensure that our cities are places with cultural identity, and that they are livable, inclusive and sustainable. In this regard, we specialize in preserving heritage, improving public spaces, and organising cultural and social activities that connect people to places.

Our content is almost always written in both English and the Myanmar language (context dependent). Many of our clients will be reading the English version, and it’s vital that we have compelling and on-brand copy across our social channels, website, and other media. We want to make sure we’re telling the story of our impact as persuasively as possible to each of these audiences, reaching each of them with the messages that are most aligned with their interests and thinking—and ultimately moving them to act.

That’s why we are seeking an experienced copywriter and strategic thinker to support us with our written content in English. This includes social media & blog posts, added website sections, whitepapers, and more. If you’re looking to expand your repertoire in the social impact space, this is an excellent opportunity to do so.

Learning Opportunity

Founded in early 2017, our firm brings together skills in research, participatory design, heritage restoration & construction, as well as research and community engagement. Staff members and consultants benefit from presentations given by our expert architects and other designers in subjects like green design, community-centered placemaking, photography/videography, and more.

With every Experteering opportunity, we keep an open line of communication about the growth and experience goals you may have, to ensure this exchange brings mutual flourishing. Just let us know!

Accommodation

If you are able to come to Yangon, we have restored many beautiful heritage apartments, as this is part of our mission. We can make one of these available to you for the duration of your stay in exchange for full-time (or 4 days/week) Experteering. This has worked very well with our former and current Experteers!

Travel Stipend

We can cover the visa expenses for your stay.

Additional Benefits

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and innovative organisation and support our vision to help Yangon become Asia’s most livable urban place – environmentally, economically, socially and culturally. We work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects and topic areas, both individually and on project teams.

Doh Eain is an equal opportunities employer and actively seeks to employ and retain a diverse, inclusive workforce. We will accommodate special needs that any staff may require. There will be many opportunities for on-the-job training and participation in external training. We will happily offer a professional recommendation during or after your work with us.
