EARTH HEIR® works with over 100 artisans from women’s cooperatives, indigenous tribes and refugee groups, across six states of Malaysia. By combining traditional artisanal skills with modern, contemporary design, Earth Heir is a true celebration of Malaysia’s varied heritage art forms and unique cultural narratives.
Mission: To celebrate craftsmanship by designing thoughtfully, engaging in ethical partnerships and advocating conscious consumption.
To live as heirs of the earth, is to live consciously with respect of people and planet. As a pioneer social enterprise in Malaysia, Earth Heir was awarded by the British Council in 2015.
We believe that humanity can live a sustainable lifestyle by harnessing resources in a controlled manner and live more equitably, regardless of gender, race, occupation, age and cultural background.

Impact Story
Via our work with refugee women artisans in the EARTH HEIR X MADE 51 project, we have brought to light and raised awareness of refugees living in Malaysia,. We creating peaceful co-existence products which reflect Malaysian heritage and the culture of the refugee artisans - to counter xenophobia towards refugees in Malaysia, that refugees can be contributors to economic growth of the nation.
We believe that humanity can live a sustainable lifestyle by harnessing resources in a controlled manner and live more equitably, regardless of gender, race, occupation, age and cultural background . We work with over 100 artisans all over Malaysia, specifically to tackle SDG 5, 8, 12. We champion ethical and sustainable production in Malaysia by being one of only 2 social enterprises in Malaysia who are fair trade certified. Every time a customer purchases scarves, a tree is planted. So far, 2238 tree have been planted.

Every piece from Earth Heir tells a story of the maker’s heritage and celebrate their skills. We educate consumers on the importance of conscious consumption - to ask questions about the source of the products and make more informed decisions which respect people and planet.
Earth Heir also provides advisory services to replicate what we do for other artisan communities, funded by partners. This way we can magnify impact by enabling other groups without having them depend on us long term.
