Project Description and Impact

Role overview

The Organizational, Policy and strategy adviser alongside the Secretary General of the Youth and Employment Department will lead the Policy operational and strategic planning process. You will use your strategic planning, policy and organizational development background to lead all elements of the strategic and policy operational planning process including context analysis, participatory research, documentation and approval.

Project background;

The Ministry of Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disability sits under the Prime Minister’s officer (PMO) looking at all youth affairs , employment, labour, persons with disabilities. The Ministry also looks at the Parliamentary and Policy issues. Under the leadership of the Secretary General the Ministry and General Secretary of the Department of Youth and Employment, the review for the amendment of the National Youth development policy has been carried on, to ensure the Youth Voice is well captured and the policy puts in place the effective strategies of addressing them. The Ministry is now focussing on operationalising the revised and amended policy and developing a strategy to set the strategic direction and annual priorities.  The Organizational, Policy and strategy adviser will lead the Policy operational and strategic planning process.

VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
 

Living Stipend

Allowance

As a VSO volunteer, you will be sharing your skills with local communities on a full time basis. VSO will cover your travel, vaccinations, accommodation, and medical insurance costs, along with a local living allowance which will be paid in local currency. This allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home. You will also receive some financial support to contribute to your on-going expenses at home.
