Social Impact Project for Operations & Supply Chain Expert for Lean Thinking Project in Colombia

How This Works

In the MovingWorlds Institute Global Fellowship, you will learn how to advance your for-good career while getting hands on experience on projects like this one.

Project Description and Impact

Our company has been developing and manufacturing plant-based natural medicines for over 30 years. Our products and practices are certified by the Colombian Food and Security Federation. Although we have established a successful company, we feel that we can improve our  productivity by designing and updating  systems to reduce waste and become much more efficient.

We believe with a more efficient production system not only will our business become more profitable, but also more environmentally sustainable and rewarding for our employees. Our goal is to create a clear, efficient, and healthy company culture where all personnel understand and take pride in the importance of their role and responsibility in the company.

These changes will allow us to maintain our core values: effectiveness, trust, patient support and fair price. With the reduction of costs in the production chain we will guarantee a greater margin of profit with which we can invest in medium and long term plans like automation of production, research, development of marketing strategies, employee well-being programs, and the maintenance of our standardized production processes.

Our company was certified B Corp in 2015 and we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our processes while increasing the positive social impact on our community. This project will guarantee the improvements we are looking for in our manufacturing processes, so that our employees will feel more comfortable in their jobs and have greater well-being. We aim to generate a circular economy within the company with the use of plant-based waste that comes out of our clean production, reducing our carbon footprint and generating awareness regarding the impact of waste.
