We are a Tanzanian nutrition company with a heartfelt mission: empowering parents to raise healthy and joyful babies. Our commitment is in nurturing children’s well-being through accessible, expert baby nutrition guidance and wholesome, organic biofortified baby food products.
Our food products arm manufactures baby food products which include flour and nut butters. We combine bio-fortified cereals with naturally occurring superfood ingredients like almonds and cashewnuts. In this way these food products are well filled with both macronutrients and micronutrients for all around excellent meals for children. All our products dont contain added sugar as well.
Our nutrition education arm provides free nutrition education online via a variety of social media channels. We have already ammassed a community of over 200,000 parents and caretakers (mostly mothers). From this community we obtain our customers as well. In addition we have online paid child nutrition classes.
Impact Story
We exist to tackle the problem of hidden hunger and malnutrition in children under 5 at scale. There are 2 sides of the problem in Tanzania.
The first side is lack of proper nutrition education for parents and caretakers. Beside great efforts by the government and other stakeholders, most parents dont know how to properly feed their children. At Lishe360, we come in as an educator. We provide free education to the masses online on common child nutrition problems and their solutions. We also showcase various healthy recipes for child meals that can be used locally. Even more our communities act as an online local club where parents (especially moms) can come and discuss feeding issues and general upbringing of their babies. And for those who neeed closer supervision and more content, there are affordable ($4 a month) online child nutrition classes they can participate in.
On the other side, there is a lack of highly nutritious food products that dont compromise on flavor and being natural. Our products encompass science and nature. While containing bio fortified cereal we also include organic superfoods like Almonds, Cashewnuts and Oats which may not be easily available to most parents. By incorporating these in our products, parents can now easily access highly nutritious food for their children at affordable prices. Our average product price is 4 USD a unit with future plans to have skews as low as 2 USD.
