Social Impact Project for Grant Writing Experteer to Support Grant Submission to UN Trust Fund
Project Description and Impact
The project area is experiencing an armed conflict. with a growing humanitarian crisis which has been classified by Norwegian Refugee Council as the most neglected in the world. There is a very high rate of conflict related sexual violence resulting in many children born of war. Our intervention focuses on survivors of conflict related sexual violence who have become pregnant as a result of the sexual abuses.
The North West Region of Cameroon where GLOWA is most active has been in an armed conflict since 2017. The conflict has paralyzed basis services in the region with the rural areas suffering the burden.
There has been an increasing rate of conflict related sexual violence on young women and girls resulting in hundreds of children born of war (CBOW). and displacement
in 2022, GLOWA started a project to protect the rights of the children born of the ongoing conflict in the north west and south west regions of Cameroon. The implementation of this project spot-lighted the abuses suffered by their mothers, survivors of conflict related sexual violence resulting in a pregnancy.
Recently, UN Trust Fund to End Gender Based Violence called for proposal (available here https://untf.unwomen.org/en/grant-giving/call-for-proposals).
