BlueInventure is a growth strategy and innovation advisory firm focused on supporting SME entrepreneurs create business success, drive job creation and deliver value to society. BlueInventure intervenes at the business model, product and management innovation levels of an SME enterprise and supports entrepreneurs and their teams to acquire the know-how, tools and capital they need to drive change and achieve the desired outcomes.
Our solutions are delivered through applied (problem-based) learning to enable entrepreneurs translate learnings into actionable plans as well as through one-on-one advisory support to drive transformation both at leadership and enterprise level.
We support start-up, early stage and growth stage SMEs with solutions that are tailor made to their existing needs.
Impact Story
SMEs have been and will continue being at the heart of economic growth and industrial development in Africa. Just as in other parts of the world including the developed countries, SMEs stimulate employment, investment, development of skills and technology, promote entrepreneurship and innovation while enhancing exports. However, in Kenya as in many other parts of Africa, the majority of SMEs are failing due to weak managerial capacity and poor firm performance related challenges as well as their inability to optimally fund their business growth.
We strongly believe that with the right support, SME entrepreneurs can be at the centre of Africa’s social economic transformation even as they create value for themselves. BlueInventure's purpose is to enable entrepreneurs in Africa win against all odds and hence build sustainable businesses that create value for them, increase job opportunities for local communities as well as value to society through enhanced products and services and revenue for governments to invest in public goods.
Over the last 5 years of our existence, we have supported over 100 SMEs in sectors such as food processing, ICT, hospitality, trading, services, clean energy, etc by in areas of need such as strategy and operations, organizational development, product (innovation) and market validation, business system development, go-to-market strategy and investment readiness among other solutions.
Our goal over the next 3 years is to scale up our model through continuous training of competent SME Business Advisors, delivery of affordable growth solutions to SMEs, taking services next door to SMEs through regional hubs and leveraging on innovative technology and data analytics to deliver advisory services at scale. We plan to engage 5,000+ SMEs in Kenya and directly impact 500 SMEs through our solutions.
