Anza is a Tanzanian organisation that provides entrepreneurs the capacity, capital and community they need to thrive via the Anza Accelerator, Growth Fund and Kili Hub spaces. Our services assist entrepreneurs to strengthen their operations, increase profitability, and scale their social impact to create more jobs and improve access to underserved markets.
Impact Story
Tanzania’s economy has grown steadily over the past decade. It is supported by expansion in industries from construction to transport, and to telecommunications and IT. It has a thriving, active, entrepreneurial spirit to drive change.
But, we have seen passionate social entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas fail. Their failure wasn’t due to flaws in their business model, but because Tanzania is still a difficult place to start and grow a business. The World Bank’s ease of doing business index ranked Tanzania 139th out of 189. Our experience shows that Tanzania lacks some of the key ingredients for successful business development: affordable capital, capacity building, and access to networks.
