myAgro is an award-winning non-profit social enterprise based in West Africa. We have pioneered a mobile savings model that allows farmers to invest their own funds in high-quality seed, fertilizer, and agricultural training to increase their harvest and income by 50-100%. myAgro’s system is a smart twist on how people in developing countries buy “airtime” for their cell phones. Just as farmers go to their village shop to buy scratch cards for pre-paid phone minutes, they can now buy myAgro scratch cards and layaway $1 to $50 to purchase seed and fertilizer during the planting season. Farmers use their savings to purchase a package that includes high-quality seed, fertilizer, tools, delivery, and training.
Our North Star is to help 1 million farmers increase their incomes by $1.50 per day by 2025 and lift themselves out of poverty. Learn more from myAgro’s founder and CEO here.

Smallholder farmers are feeding the world, but the vast majority live in poverty. Small-scale farmers across the globe make up 80% of the world's poor. At myAgro, we believe that farmers can finance themselves out of poverty. Our model increases farm income, reduces food insecurity, and helps farmers move out of poverty. We've grown from working with 240 farmers in 2012 to over 30,000 in 2017 and have plans to rapidly scale in the coming years. Our dream is to build a model of savings layaway in Mali and Senegal that can be adopted by other organizations to serve farmers throughout the world.
