Organization Details

Ada Developers Academy is a nonprofit, tuition-free coding school for women and gender expansive adults. We primarily serve Black, Latine, Indigenous Americans, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander, LGBTQIA+, and low-income people. 

The Ada Core program teaches full-stack web development with a practical focus: Python, SQL, Flask, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React and computer science fundamentals. We believe that this skill set that allows students to grow quickly, transition to industry, and to choose what specialty of software development they want to pursue in their careers. We focus on teaching skills that are readily transferable from one technology stack to another, making Ada students adaptable and flexible candidates for all types of developer positions.

Impact Story

Ada Developers Academy has graduated over 1100 women and gender expansive adults since 2013. Our graduation rate is 95%, with 78% of graduates reporting FTE employment in tech reported within six months of graduation over the lifetime of our organization. Our students intern and work at a range of companies as software developers, including Google, Salesforce, Nordstrom, SAP Concur, GoDaddy, Khan Academy, and much more.

We envision a world in which Black and brown women and gender expansive people achieve economic power through careers in tech. Our graduates report an average salary increase of $75,000 in their first roles after graduation. We advocate for and support our students, alumni, community members, and partners to foster healthy, equitable environments — and together, we are building toward a more inclusive tech industry.
