Geoidentity
Organization Details
How do you survive in a verification world without proof of who you are? Today, over 1.5 billion people worldwide lack identity-documentation, and over 108 million have been forcibly displaced due to wars, persecution, climate change, losing access to vital documents like degree certificates. This loss, combined with inconsistent validation processes between countries, makes it impossible for migrants to rebuild their lives. Geoidentity tackles this crisis by introducing a universal system for secure study validation— through a blockchain-powered academic passport. Data are validated through blockchain to save refugees' data across borders, ensuring education and identity remain undeniable human rights. By setting a new global standard for academic validation, Geoidentity potential extends beyond refugees. For instance, in the USA, where credential validation across states can be a bureaucratic maze, Geoidentity provides a universally verifiable, time-saving solution.
Impact Story
Geography has the power to draw and define our existence. A reality that I want to share through their voices: “My family house was bombed three times-Oh my God, I’ll never get the opportunity to finish my studies" "I am a stateless person I do not have any document to prove who I am". —These are the voices behind the huge stats.
But in the past, we invented the passport to travel around the world easily. Imagine now if every country could request a different document and process to access the country, who could travel more? This happens when we need to cross the study-job validation border. Geoidentity aims to do for academic records what the passport did for travel: provide a universal, easily verifiable, and borderless system to authenticate identity and education. This innovation ensures educational credentials can be securely shared across borders, empowering refugees to preserve their academic records despite crises. This streamlined process benefits displaced, accreditation&immigration bodies, universities-implementing a universal system that operates on a global scale—unifying identity. Geoidentity was recognised by Springwise as one of the 5 inspiring solutions worldwide protecting human rights. Declared as one of the World-Changing Ideas by Fast Company last year. Showcased at ChangeNOW World 2024, “First Responders” section for urgent humanitarian solutions- winning the Coup de Coeur award during the "Inclusion Pitch Session," from 170 innovators. Named one of the Impact Startups to Watch by Impact Shakers. At World Water Week 2024, hosted by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), honoured as one of 10 Awarded Young Professionals globally for my advocacy on water conflicts-driver of displacement. Additionally, Geoidentity was featured in the Spanish Red Cross’s “Technology and Vulnerability” initiative, highlighting its innovative use of technology to support marginalized communities
