Umoja Foundation Group is a registered community based organization in the Republic of Kenya.The is registered by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development.Umoja Foundation Group offers services to local people helping vulnerable children and families, environment related issues, HIV AIDS, support different abled persons, education, water and sanitation, agriculture, sports, behavior change, the aged, youth and women empowerment, health and alleviate poverty.It seeks to empower and promote exchange of ideas, experience and practice among individuals and all involved in development initiatives in our target regions.
We are committed to build and strengthen democratic organizations and institutions involved in development to realize self-reliance and social transformation.
Impact Story
Umoja Foundation Group was established for the purpose of social awareness, promote volunteer service and assist disadvantaged children, families and community to benefit and contribute to the common good and provide a vehicle which nurture self worth.In the target community there's increase number of school dropouts, increase number of early pregnancy and marriages, increase rate of drug Abd substance abuse.All this are fueled by lack of school fees and poverty among communities.By enabling bright children to further continue with their education will have a literate community and a productive nation.The organization focuses on economic and environmental sustainability.We work with small scale farmers to increase food security and production, promote environment conservation practice.The volunteer to help, introduce local farmers to techniques that prevent soil erosion, introduce new skills on organic farming to reduce the use of chemicals(pesticides) the project work both livestock and food security.Agronomist or volunteers studying or training in the field of agriculture management are needed for our community in projects for sustainable agriculture development.Volunteers to help in: farming management, construction of a green house, introduction of new skills on organic farming,crop maintenance, planting crops.intriduce, provide best artificial insemination breeds to the local farmers.The project informs,educate and gives skills to the disadvantaged.
The organization does many environmental activities that includes garbage collection,in our nearby markets, drainage of stagnant water among others,since environment is important and attractive to many we prefer conserving by planting tree with a theme " Trees for better community" will improve the look of the community.The organization has many bright disadvantaged children to be assisted,many walk to school barefoot, tattered uniform,lack books, blanket, mattress,basic needs, school fees, reduce their self-esteem
