Vos is a micro-enterprise created by Pili Luna, promotes inclusive socio-economic and environmentally sustainable growth through innovative design.
Impact Story
Pili Luna engages multiple key partners to create a scalable, profitable, and high-impact business model. We receive funding from international development organizations to teach women from indigenous communities around the region to produce fish leather that is up to our quality standards. To supply these communities with fish skin, we partner with fish product companies who need to dispose of the discarded fish skin from their facilities. The indigenous female artisans purchase this fish skin at a reasonable price, turn it into leather, and sell the finished product back to Pili Luna with a 45% profit margin. Pili Luna then sells the leather at a premium to customers who are interested in sourcing sustainably-produced and socially-impactful materials.
