ClimateMind
Organization Details
ClimateMind inspires and enables leaders in Europe and frontline communities in the global south to take effective action for people, biodiversity and climate – by using applied psychology. We offer trainings, workshops, online courses and keynotes to educate leaders from businesses, NGOs and movements as well as politics/administration on psychology of effective climate and biodiversity action.
In contrast to existing organizations, we are passionate climate and environmental psychologists. We use psychological research as the fundament, are impact-oriented, are authentic, young and innovative activists from the climate movement (high idealistic values) and work to support frontline communities. With this background, we are one of the very few organizations right now that can help leaders and organizations (with skills and motivation) to become authentic role models in climate and biodiversity action and fit to shape a regenerative and life-centered economy.
Impact Story
The big problem that we address is the core of the climate crisis: Business leaders and political decision-makers in Europe are too slow in tackling the climate and biodiversity crisis and do so without the mindset for justice. There are two major consequences of this big problem:
(1) Global injustice and displacement: Insufficient action by leaders contributes to poverty, food insecurity and migration globally. More than 1 billion people from communities will lose their livelihood by 2050 (Institute for Economics and Peace, 2020).
(2) Democracy crisis: Non-transformative, socially unjust solutions proposed by political decision makers increase inequality in society. This leads to social conflicts and strengthens right-wing parties.
In the last 3 years, we have inspired and enabled more than 3,460 leaders (with more than 90 client projects) from NGOs, companies, politics and administration to take effective climate and biodiversity action. We conducted 19 trainings, 10 workshops, 36 keynotes, 15 online study courses with more than 450 learners, 19 consultations. We have already worked with companies (e.g. McKinsey, Tchibo, Wienerberger, EY), NGOs (e.g. Brot für die Welt, AWO Deutschland), social movements (e.g. Fridays for Future, Extinction Rebellion, Letzte Generation), foundations (Heinrich Böll Stiftung, Gesunde Erde Gesunde Menschen), media and journalism (e.g. Hubert Burda Media, Netzwerk Klimajournalismus), churches (e.g. Deutscher Evangelischer Kirchentag, Diakonie, Ev. Kirche im Rheinland) as well as politics and administration (e.g. Bürgerrat Klima, Klimaschutz- und Energieagentur Niedersachsen, Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung). We are currently working on our impact measurement strategy.
