Organization Details
J'accueille is an NGO specialized in welcoming people who are refugees into local homes. Our philosophy is to favor real meetings, exchange around language, mutual learning of each person's codes, according to affinities... so that it is as enriching as possible for everyone.
For 8 years, J’accueille has supported nearly 1,300 refugees. Created in 2015 by the NGO SINGA, the association has grown and is now present in 10 cities in France: Paris and Île de France, Lille, Lyon, Grenoble, Marseille, Montpellier, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes and Rennes.
Impact Story
We have identified that obtaining international protection does not mark the end of a migratory journey. Many obstacles remain to be overcome once asylum has been obtained in order to access a stable personal and professional situation such as : learning the French language, finding accommodation, mastering French social-cultural codes or even frequent social isolation. The immersion period that we offer, within a French home, allows us to address a certain number of these obstacles.
After benefiting from our program, refugees are 6 times more likely to find a house and 4 times more likely to find a job.
