SZW is a socio-environmental enterprise providingdecentralized, holistic WM services to RWAs, corporates, governmental bodies etc. Our model focuses on maximum resource recovery and includes providing dignified livelihood (i.e. statutory wages, social security
benefits, safe working conditions) to 270+ people from BoP (our direct beneficiaries).
Solutions:
a) Work with bulk waste generators to implement zero waste solutions i.e. source segregation, further processing of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste;
b) Assist manufacturers in reverse channelization of post-consumer plastic and electronic waste; Provide consultancy to plan for zero waste systems;
c)Sell up-cycled and recycled products;
d) Partner with informal waste sector, develop programmes for their formalization

Our Social Impact
As of 2021:
a) BOP Employment : We employed 175 people from BoP. SZW follows the highest standards in relation to workplace health and safety, payment of minimum wages, all statutory benefits.
b) Indirect Livelihoods :
Generated 128+ indirect livelihoods under social inclusion programme which emphasis on transforming the current informal waste workers to lead a formal, inclusive and sustained business.
Generated 1800+ indirect livelihoods by collaborating with the informal sector. We purchased plastic waste collected by them subject to compliance of minimum EHS standards, no child labour, no cash transaction
Overall, since 2017 SZW directly and indirectly impacted the lives of 6400+ people.
We release a Circular Impact Report every year (since 2019) to report our progress, actions and transformations. Amongst other things, we report break-up of quantity and type of waste managed, source of waste, percentage of the traceable supply chain and resources recovered, GHG emissions reduced .
