My organization: the National Root Crops Research Institute Umudike (NRCRI), South Easter Nigeria is a research organization established in 1973 by the federal government of Nigeria to carry out research into genetic improvement of roots and tuber crop (breeding new crop varieties that are resistant to climate change impacts) and training of rural farmers on sustainable agriculture, values addition to crops and help vulnerable communities navigate the challenging impact of climate change. We arm rural communities with relevant skills to prevent, prepare and manage climate crises.

Impact Story
Our mission is to reduce poverty and increase food security through the development of relevant and sustainable technologies for stakeholders in agriculture and to build local and international capacity to lead and support effective conservation and sustainable development initiatives.
. We have collaborated with Bill Gate foundation, USAID, International institute of tropical agriculture (IITA Ibadan, Nigeria), F5 Tech for good grants and IFAD-IDS funded works on rural youth among other international collaborators.
