How This Works

Organization Details

Project Scientist’s mission is to expose BIPOC girls ages 4 - 18 from Title I schools and community partners in under-resourced areas to a high-quality STEAM (Science, Technology, Art, and Math) curriculum that inspires confidence in their pursuit of learning throughout the year. We introduce girls to STEM career pathways with out-of-school education, evidence-based curriculum, teacher training, and mentoring. In our first ten years, we achieved the milestone of educating more than 24,000 girls in English and Spanish across 26 states and Mexico. Now, our bold vision is to introduce 500,000 girls and non-binary students to STEM higher education and career success by 2040. By delivering high-quality STEAM experiences, we provide access to education and career pathways that expand professional opportunities for marginalized girls across the United State and Mexico.

Impact Story

Project Scientist transforms the lives of girls and non-binary students. By keeping students engaged across the student life cycle, Project Scientist actively challenges gender and racial stereotypes so that students of all racial and economic backgrounds can see themselves in STEM. Our comprehensive STEM education programs bridge educational disparities through high-quality, accessible STEM content, STEM role models, and inclusive learning environments. We break down economic barriers by offering free programming to students and training teachers from high-need schools at no cost to educators through our Project Scientist Teaching Institute.
