Impact Story
"Small Step Matters" was born out of the desire to give a voice to all social projects in Mauritius while emphasizing the power of collective action. In 2016, the only non-profit crowdfunding platform in Mauritius came to life. Our goal is to assist individuals and organizations in promoting their social and environmental projects, and we also provide the opportunity for citizens of Mauritius or elsewhere to contribute together to a social project.
We offer a secure structure, simple payment methods, and a guarantee that donations will be used wisely. We aim to raise awareness among citizens about the strength of solidarity and the greatness of small gestures. Additionally, we encourage businesses to commit more to contribute to the sustainable and inclusive development of our country.
We operate in the fields of health, education, social inclusion, nutrition, extreme poverty, and the environment. Our donors are primarily Mauritian or foreign businesses and individuals. Our project leaders are individuals living in precarious conditions, aspiring to a better life; associations in search of funding, and businesses wanting to engage more actively.
To date, we have contributed to the realization of more than 66 projects and raised approximately MUR 18 million.
