Krystal Ice Limited (KIL) is a legally registered company in Uganda that started a fruit processing business in 2017 to address the problem of fruit waste, farmers lack of access to markets and poor snacking habits. Our mission is to become a company that promotes better livelihoods for smallholder farmers through fruit processing to make healthy products and ensure the company's sustainability and profitability. We are committed to improving nutrition and food security across the country by harnessing the potential of fruits, a vital source of vitamins and other essential nutrients.
Impact Story
Our solution has inspired over 300,000 parents and their children to change their behavior habits towards health snacking and responsible consumption, we have improved production to 465 tonnes of fruits processed which would otherwise be wasted hence reducing food wastage and increasing the shelf life of perishable fruits, at the same time empowering over 3000 farmers economically by proving market for their fruits.
We have been able to provide employment to 24 youths majority graduates from universities, 2 youths with disability and over 20 part time workers
