Founded in 2016 by Kapil Mandawewala, Edible Routes is a sustainable urban farming organization that empowers people to grow their own food.
Our two primary businesses are-
1.)Consultation-Creating and maintaining natural food gardens ranging from 100 sqft. to 100 acres for individuals, families, food producers, institutions and organisations
2.)Farmlets-Providing monthly subscription to small farm spaces within cities combined with integrated farming services, helping urban families to grow their food just one to two hours away from their homes
We also run a 'organic food and gardening store' , conduct 'workshops & farm events' as supporting services to our primary offerings.
Daily access to fresh, safe, clean and nutritious food is neither simple nor easy. Edible Routes solves this by enabling urban dwellers to grow their own food. Our goal is to ‘bring food closer to people and people closer to food’ !
Our services are not only catered towards individuals with a green thumb; it’s designed to work for everyone, even for those with zero knowledge of growing food, and kindle an interest within them to explore & practice conscious food eating.
Impact we have been making-
1.)Decreased ecological damage through natural farming methods, resulting in cleaner air and greener cities lessening the impact of global warming
2.)Building a strong community of conscious food consumers and advocates who spread awareness and influence more people
3.)Growing food closer to home decreases the distance it travels, directly increasing the nutritional value, quality and freshness
4.)Increased understanding on food and how to grow it, leading to better eating habits and lesser food wastage
5.)Spreading knowledge on consciously growing and consuming food, helping urban population develop a deeper appreciation towards farmers and food
