Black Umbrellas partners with ENTREPRENEURS, ENTERPRISES, INVESTORS
AND COMMUNITIES, creating dynamic models to catalyse unique developmental and organisational solutions in order to drive an inclusive and sustainable economic future.
As a source of employment and positive contribution to South Africa's GDP, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are an integral part of the South African economy. At a local level, SMEs remain critical to uplifting the communities in which they operate, creating employment opportunities, skills development, and vibrant culture of entrepreneurial innovation.
Given the growth constraints that SMEs face, it is crucial to design programmes and solutions that will have a wider reach and bring about real, systemic change and empowerment. The Black Umbrellas model is aimed at supporting emerging businesses through an award-winning incubation programme and allied interventions to develop businesses to a level where they can emerge as independent, viable, and scalable.
