Through education, awareness raising and conservation actions, the Bee Camp’s mission is to make the world a better place for both people and biodiversity. Through the lives of bees, The Bee Camp seeks to inspire, empower and restore the relationship between people, plants and pollinators.

Our vision is a world where people celebrate biodiversity.

Impact Story

Output & Outcome

Since 2018, more than 3000 children and 1200 adults have had the chance to take part in our raising awareness, education and conservation actions. We have organized more than 240 educational workshops, community conservation actions or awareness raising events throughout Greece (Athens, Thessaloniki, Peloponnese, Komotini, Nafplion, Cyclades, North Aegean and others). The Bee Camp, sponsored by APIVITA SA, has visited 15 BEE SCHOOLS around Greece in order to educate children about the importance of the bees for our ecosystems.

The Bee Camp has produced and disseminated ~ 5000 seed bombs (wildflowers bombs made of clay, wildflower seeds and soil and sold more than 15.000 Seed Mix packets (bee-friendly wildflower seed mixes). The Bee Camp’s team has also managed to create 9 Bee Spots (:safe havens for urban bees providing nutrition and habitat) in Athens, the Cyclades and Thessaloniki.

Impact

Through the activities of The Bee Camp,  we have contributed to raising awareness about the decline of biodiversity and restoring and creating pollinator habitat through our Bee Spots and our seed bombing events all around Greece. We have also contributed to increasing ecological literacy through our workshops for children, adults and families. All in all, we have had a significant  positive impact both on an environmental and social level.
