Organization Details
We administer the only certification in the USA specifically for social enterprise companies - USA Certified Social Enterprise. We work in partnership with other organizations to then support social enterprises to gain social procurement contracts with government, corporate and anchor institutions. Social enterprises are defined by Society Profits using the global definition - organizations selling goods and services and using more than 50% of profits to make social and/or environmental impact.
Impact Story
Social enterprises are often working in the B to C marketplace in the US but in other parts of the world there is a vibrant social procurement movement. here in the US buyers have not ventured into the social procurement space because there is no legal business entity type for a social enterprise and there was no certification to prove that a company was a social enterprise. By bringing the USA Certified Social Enterprise accreditation to the US we are helping this ecosystem of business that dedicate more than 50% of profits to social and/or environmental impact to grow and scale and reach new B to B markets.
