Organization Details
We produce specialty grade coffee for distribution wherever coffee is consumed -- at home, in the office, at school, or in ice cream. Our supply chain is middleman free and farmer roasted, so our farmers (95% of whom are women) make 4x more than through typical export channels.
Impact Story
With over 20 million coffee farmers living at or below the poverty line, the coffee supply chain faces an existential crisis. Farmers are leaving cultivating coffee as it becomes economically unfeasible to survive farming coffee. The way we address this issue is by empowering farmers to own the entire supply chain -- through roasting and packaging. In the past 5 years we have sourced coffee from over 10,000 farmers and have put an average of $5.13.lb back into coffee growing communities in Nicaragua and Colombia. That is compared to the $0.86/lb in the typical export chain. Further, over 95% of our team are women coffee growers and as shown time and again, an investment in women is an investment in the community as a whole.
